65 bed new nursing home, design and planning consent, and acting as employer's representative through construction period. Challenges included a steeply sloping site, and many trees whose root protection zones had to be avoided.
Southborough Nursing Home, Surbiton
Design and planning consent to expand and replace existing care home. Located in a conservation area, in a road of similar period buildings, the design was developed with pitchedroof and gable elements to visually echo the elevation features of the existing building and enhance it, streetfront setting. However, the plans and sections, we designed to provide full visibility of all levels, and a spacious layout including a full basement.
